Does all contraception prevent catching a sexually transmitted infection?

Answer:

No, only condoms can prevent the spreading of a sexually transmitted infection from one person to another.

They can not prevent 100% of the time however, if a condom splits or if the condom falls off the penis, or if the man’s penis goes down the side of the female condom then this means the STI could be passed on.

Some STIs like public lice can still easily be passed on when using a condom.
