If I use a sexual health service will they tell my parents?

Answer:

In the UK sexual health services are free and confidential for people aged 13-15, this means that the reason for your appointment with a doctor, nurse or sexual health professional and anything said in your appointment will be kept private.

The only time that the doctor, nurse or health care professional will need to inform your parents, carer, social worker or any other professional is if they believe you are at risk of harm or abuse.

If you are under 13 then a social worker may need to be involved since you can not legally consent to sexual activity when under 13.

If you have had unprotected sex this puts you at risk of catching a sexually transmitted infection.
