If you are under 16 you can still do the following:
- Get tested for a sexually transmitted infection
- Get free contraception, or
- Have an abortion
And as long as you are not at risk of significant harm, the doctor, nurse or health professional will NOT tell your parents (or carer) anything unless you want them to.
They may encourage you to share things with your parents or carers but they will not force you to.
You have the same rights of confidentiality as an adult does.
